For those visiting this page with an interest in our guild or perhaps membership, I'd like to outline some of the things that make Sithkrieg what it is, and what it is going to be. Primarily it's a PvP Focused PvP/PvE guild that welcomes both casual and hardcore players. It is also in the process of becoming a top notch media hub and social community for SWTOR.
Sithkrieg is founded by myself and several of my IRL friends. We all have a background of several years playing MMO's and competitive online shooters in social communities and guilds. Some of us have experience in guild leadership as GM's and also as officers in those guilds. This core of Sithkrieg, which will influence its direction, attitude and progression ranges the gamut from casual to hardcore and pvp-focused to pve-focused. This all in-turn reflects on the emphasis of Sithkrieg and its goals in-game.
We intend to be a premiere guild. Our central focus is going to be on PvP. This is because it is an emphasis and goal that is more accommodating to a casual playstyle. PvE is also going to be a priority for Sithkrieg. It will not occupy a "backburner" status. We want to be high in rankings in PvP and if we can also do the same in PvE that would be fantastic.
Part of our philosophy of incorporating casual gamers is that IRL events come before SWTOR. While we intend to have organized and prescheduled events, participation in these events is not a prerequisite for membership. We all understand and realize that real world commitments and issues arise and are more important than this game, and we want to create a community that accommodates others the way we ourselves would like to be accommodated. I realize this is not what many guilds practice, but rest assured that this does not mean we will be inactive or lacking in organization. We will still strive to be competitive in PvP and progress in those rankings, as well as progress through all the PvE content.
I cannot go into as much detail regarding the plans for community building with Sithkrieg as I would like at this time. This isn't out of a desire for secrecy. The fact is that many ideas are being thrown around right now, of which almost all of them sound good. I'm in the process of determining which of these ideas are most viable, and how we can accomplish as many of them as possible at a level of quality that is worth producing. As time goes on and our guild and community grow more of these options will become viable and at that time, we will have more information to offer on them. I can say however, that if all goes as we would hope, then Sithkrieg will be a place that is frequently visited even by non-members because of its value to the SWTOR community.
